5 days to go

by admin4blog September 26, 2018 3 Comments

5 days left to go!!   My laptop has just been returned to my office so no more work for me.   🙂  Barrie has one more day of work left.

I have a long to do list to get through which includes as always tidy my desk, but somehow I prefer to experiment with my blog.

So what have we done to get to this stage?

We are almost packed, the last weigh in we did was 15kg me 20kg Barrie,  that is not because he has more stuff than me but because I have given him all the medical supplies and toiletries to put in his case.  We are not backpacking but taking softbags with wheels.   I still think we can take out some things but packing for 3 months for hot and cold weather is really difficult.  I will itemise our packing on the packing page another time.

We have the cat and plants sorted.   We have money organised and done a number of pre trip medical things including vaccination, prescription for my daily thyroid tablets that I have been taking for a long as I can remember and have no idea what will happen if I stop.  I once asked the Doctor and he said you will get tired and look older so I keep taking them!

Our main flights are booked via Carly @ flightcentre.co.uk.  Mini cruises booked, one with Carly the other for the Galapagos we booked ourselves using a last minute Galapagos cruises site, www.galapagoscruiselinks.com , we opted for a Catamaran instead of regular boat just add a different experience to our trip.   Other flights have been booked via Skyscanner ourselves.

Hotels and accommodation for the first month are booked, and the last month, via Hotel.com, AirB&B and Booking.com.  We tend to use hotel.com for most of our booking as we collect the points for free nights but not all hotels are on there and sometimes we find one that we really like on a different site.

Now I must get back to that to do list and start  with sorting my desk and finances before we go.
