Day 3 – 2/10/18 – Miami in the rain

by admin4blog October 3, 2018 No Comments

Miami in the rain

We woke up finally at around 7.30am American time which was good to be on local time.   Barrie had woken a couple of time in the night but quickly went back to sleep, I had have some very weird dreams, too weird to share in public and medically impossible.  Looking out the window there it was rain, and lots of it.   Our pool day plans gone,  no one mentioned the rain in Miami, yesterday everyone kept talking about the great pool at the hotel they never told us it would rain today!

Breakfast at Delano

For simplicity and to avoid getting we opted for breakfast in the hotel.  We were not disappointed with the very tasty Egg Benedict with smoked salmon and a potato (it is it potato) cake.

With no plans to sit in all day we headed off in between showers to the nearby Lincoln Road shopping area.   We discovered more and more Art Deco building housing modern shop including Forever 21, Apple shop and a Nespresso Coffee bar where we stopped for our morning coffee.   We aslo discovered a fantastic Art gallery with incredible photos by Peter Lik.

As the rain subsided we continued walking straight across a few road bridges and a few more bridges infact 2.5miles of bridges until we came to downtown Miami.  The walk had been good as it gave us the opportunity to see local houses and waterways.

The walk did however tire us out so we hopped on the local free transport Metromover and went to Bayside Market place which we had heard was one Miami’s top attractions.   Honestly we  were not so impressed Maybe because we were tired.

With the sun now out we headed back to our hotel and got to spend a couple of hours by the pool before heading off for an evening meal at a local vegan restaurant Full Bloom, which initially we thought was a 30 minute walk and turned out to be 2 minutes.
